Turkistan Airport is a new greenfield international airport that serve the city of Turkistan, the capital of the Turkish Region in the southernmost part of Kazakhstan. The airport was constructed within the framework of a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model between Turkish YDA Holding and the Kazakh Government. The construction of the airport was completed in 2020, which can be considered as the fastest airport facility construction in the world; it is compliant with all international standards and implemented using the latest building technologies, and can handle domestic, international flights and cargo services.
Turkistan Airport needed a push-to-talk system for all the different teams and departments such as security, check-in, luggage, catering, cleaning, etc., to facilitate instant group communications and efficient collaboration within and across teams. The customer was considering DMR Tier II pseudo trunking solution from another manufacturer at the very beginning.
With Caltta DMR Enhanced Conventional System (ECS), the customer got a wide range of features and reliable solution; it offers pseudo trunking features with higher cost efficiency.
Four PR900 repeaters were deployed as one ECS site to provide enhanced conventional services, 31 pcs of PM790, 60 pcs of PH600 and 40 pcs of PH690 were delivered.
PD200 dispatcher is also provided to increase the working efficiency and provide visualized dispatch.
One PSTN gateway is provided to interconnect the DMR ECS system with PSTN network. The system can be connected via IP with other airports if the customer decides to replicate the deployment in other projects.
Scalable: Currently there are 4 repeaters stacked for one site. We can support up to 8 repeaters stacked as one site with 16 channels, and multiple sites can be linked over IP, making sure smooth capacity expansion in the future.
Lower CAPEX: Dynamic channel allocation is realized based on DMR Tier II repeaters PR900, with easy and flexible networking, and no controller is required, to ensure the network get utilized cost-effectively, and save CAPEX by reducing infrastructure quantity.
Robust and Reliable: Dynamic channel allocation & load balancing help to avoid congestion and single-point failure.
High System Efficiency: ECS also supports load balancing to avoid traffic congestion, especially suitable for high traffic communications with multiple facilities such as airports.
